Swift Saturday!

Saturdays are always big days at SMS T2. Yesterday, we joined the kids for uphill double pole intervals followed by foot agility and strength in the afternoon. This morning, we all awoke the sore backs, elbows and biceps, neither from intervals nor our strength, but from our agility with a group of energetic, happy SMS kids.

Andy and Jessie led the session with the kids, setting up an obstacle course after a run and mobility stretch. The course had ladders, parkore tire jumps, diagonal shuffling and, finally, leap frog jumps, cartwheels and somersaults. After three runs of the course, the older kids (AKA the T2 team) were feeling their age. Somersaults aren’t what they used to be.

As we held our aching backs, the kids surrounded us, jumping and laughing and asking for more. It was great to see so much positive energy, and even though we were the ones leading the session, we walked away with a lesson on motivation ourselves and continued to have fun, doing what we love.
