Final Summit Sisters

We wrapped up our Summit Sisters series yesterday with a hike up Stratton Mountain. Even though it wasn’t quite as big of a turnout as our previous hike up Bromley, we had several new faces, a baby, a birthday girl (Happy 22nd Annie Hart!), and the little smiling face of Haylen who has made it to every single Summit Sisters and always provides non-stop stories and entertainment. Yesterday was a hot and humid hike and we were all pretty tired and sweaty by the top. Lucky for us, Erika brought up a backpack full of T2 swag that she raffled off on top. It both gave us an excuse to take a break AND the lucky winners came back down the mountain looking even cooler than they did hiking up!

I believe the Summit Sisters hikes were a huge success this summer and my hope is that they will continue to grow next year. It’s a special thing when you can get 30 women ranging from 0-65 years of age on top of a mountain together. Whenever you’re feeling tired, unmotivated, or even a little grumpy, all it takes is a Star Wars story from Haylen, a hug from Ada or Serena, or a smile from Brennan to snap you out of it. I’ve enjoyed coming to Summit Sisters because I always finish the hikes happier than when I started, regardless of whether I decide to hike with someone’s mom, daughter, sister, or friend that day. I hope you all had as much fun as we did and we will see you next summer!
