For the last two weeks Andy, Jessie, Ben, Sophie, Simi and I have been down under in New Zealand for a US Ski Team training camp. The trip is now coming to a close with our final intensity session of the trip later this morning and our last full day here at the Snow Farm. This trip has been one of the most productive and beneficial training camps I have ever attended. HUGE thanks to T2 and NNF for supporting this trip and helping us get down here. Last Sunday I finished my biggest training week to date – a personal record for hours logged on or off snow. The training plan, however, has not been purely volume based. The goal of the camp has been to maintain a big training load while staying focused and energized for high quality sessions. Over the course of the camp so far we have completed two all out race simulations, four intervals sessions, three speed sessions and five strength workouts (!). Tomorrow morning we will hit the trails early to get one last ski in before driving down the mountain and over to Queenstown for flights home. Psyched to be back in the US of A soon!
